I generally keep a ModelBuilder.xml library of definitions on the network that I can go and retrieve from if I want if I need to move to another user's PC and need to do some ModelBuilder operations. Go to another PC (or you replace your PC), and you have to redefine your ModelBuilder definitions all over again.Įach ModelBuilder definition is self-contained in its own block, so it is relatively easy to copy/paste (into another XML file) or drag/drop these (within the same XML file). Another downside it is local to that PC only. The encoding environment allows one to display the document in. After the XML data is loaded, it will be displayed in a hierarchical XML Grid which allows you to easily navigate the tree structure. XMLmind XML Editor (XXE),24 which I used to build a critical edition encoding environment. You can choose any of the methods listed in the menu: paste the data directly to the Input Box, open the file from your local file system or get it from internet By URL. Not matter what you do, your ModelBuilder list invariably ends up in a real mess, with 50 entries before you realise it that you just can't remember what they did, nor in the neat order that you would like. You can copy and paste these on top of the corresponding blocks in other *.wtg files reasonably safely, but beware in that the wtg format can change between WaterGems versions (so can other WaterGems XML files, but generally they change less). For versions of Ubuntu between 14.04 LTS (Trusty Tahr) and 15. Mine have all been painstaking setup with Annotations, Color Codings, Zoom Display Levels etc. Some of the key elements I like to copy and paste from these files into other WaterGems projects are:Ī. You can delete them and not hurt your model, but they contain all of your project metadata, your element display and symbology settings for the project, your custom Project settings in the Options->Project Tab etc. These contain a heck of a lot of information, but no modeling "data". Let's start with a couple of main ones as an example:ġ. Even if you forget to do it, it also automatically makes a back-up of the unedited XML. You can also drag and drop blocks between XML files, or re-order them in the same XML file (say in your ModelBuilder.xml file) etc. It makes it FAR easier to read XMLs, and allows copy and pasting of entire XML blocks fairly painlessly. But if you spend a lot of time editing raw HTML you probably won't mind! Personally I use an XML Editor to get the most out of XML files, and one I've found to be fairly good is a free one called XMLMind. XMLmind XML Editor is now officially supported on macOS Big Sur (version 11.0), except on Macs having an Apple M1 (ARM-based) processor. XML files are text files, and can be edited with any text editor, but they suffer from not being very human readable. However, before get into this, before editing an XML file, MAKE BACKUPS! Whilst not fatal, if you misedit one of these, you can end up costing you more time than you set out to save! -) If you find you've made a real mess of things and start getting application or model errors (and no back-ups available), deleting the XML file entirely will generally trigger WaterGems to create a new one in its place with default settings. You can easily (with one click on the button “Uninstall” within Revo Uninstaller Pro) use these logs to uninstall programs from your computer.OK, this is really for Power users, but knowing how to work with WaterGems XML files can save you a lot of time in some situations. At the time Sting was enjoying some success in the world of film music, having also worked with Kamen on It’s Probably Me, the theme song to Lethal Weapon 3. Kamen was no stranger to pop music, having provided orchestral arrangements for Pink Floyd, Kate Bush, The Eurythmics and Def Leppard among many others so had many contacts. The songwriting team remained the same but this time Kamen wanted to bring in two other singers to echo the titular triumvirate of heroes in the story. The six-and-a-half minute (and in my opinion, far better) version of Everything I Do includes an extended two minute guitar solo at the end from one of my favourite guitarists, Keith Scott.įollowing the success of Everything I Do and hoping to deliberately recapture what had previously been a happy accident, Kamen approached Adams again to work on a song for Disney’s big budget, star studded version of The Three Musketeers. It’s worth checking out the album Waking Up The Neighbors which came out three months after the film. When they heard the finished product they panicked and hid it away at the halfway point of the closing credits, not realising what a worldwide smash they had on their hands. Originally the film producers wanted a period appropriate song with lutes and lyres. Kamen decided that Adams’ gravelly voice and hastily penned (cobbled together in less than an hour) romantic lyrics, incorporating lines of dialogue from the film worked best with his self proclaimed ‘sweet melodies’. Eventually it was whittled down to two possibilities: A duet between Julia Fordham with Chicago frontman Peter Cetera (who had provided the syrupy ballad Glory Of Love for The Karate Kid Part II) and Bryan Adams with his long time songwriting partner and producer R.J. These included Kate Bush, Lisa Stansfield and Annie Lennox. When Michael Kamen was putting the soundtrack for Robin Hood: Prince Of Thievestogether, several big music stars of the time were approached to collaborate on a pop song based on his Maid Marian theme. But it could have turned out so differently… It’s now one of the biggest selling songs of all time. It lost out to Beauty & The Beast on the night but went on to win AMA, Juno, Grammy and Ivor Novello awards. Everything I Do became Bryan Adams’ first of three Oscar nominations for best song. It remained at number 1 in the UK for 16 weeks a record still unbroken over a quarter of a century later despite the best efforts of Wet Wet Wet, Whitney Houston and Drake. If you’re old enough to remember the summer of ‘91 you’ll also remember that you could not escape this song (no matter how hard you might have tried). Everything I Do (I Do It For You) (from Robin Hood: Prince Of Thieves, 1991) Avildsen would follow it up a year later with the much more well received The Karate Kid. It received widespread hostility from audiences and critics alike and failed to make back it’s $6 million budget. These days A Night In Heaven is relatively unknown, having been largely overshadowed by the very similar (and far superior) Flashdance (a student working as a dancer by night seduces a much older college professor and has to face the consequences). Luckily, the gamble paid off as it went on to become his first number 1 single in the US. A last minute change of heart on Adams’ part saved the track. It almost didn’t make the shortlist for Reckless as it was a lot lighter in tone than the rest of the album. Until Reckless came out a year later, the soundtrack album was the only place where this song could be found. Originally written as a tribute to Journey while he was touring as their support act, it was picked to become the love theme to John G. However, it’s Heaven which has gone on to become one of Adams’ most covered songs. Bryan Adams’ Reckless album produced some stone cold classic rock tracks including Summer Of ‘69, Kids Wanna Rock, It’s Only Love (with Tina Turner) and Run To You. Having that luxury to spend hours on a guitar tone or tuning the drums or working on harmonies and textural things. For me that was a godsend because I was used to doing records for all the indie labels and we only had budgets for three or four days. (Corgan) wanted to make everything sound amazing and see how far he could take it really spend time on the production and the performances. The longer recording period and larger budget were unprecedented for Vig, who later recalled Vig and Corgan worked together as co-producers, at the time Vig was still a relatively unknown producer. Gish was recorded from December 1990 to March 1991 in Butch Vig's Smart Studios in Madison, Wisconsin with a budget of $20,000. A song like "Rhinoceros" reflected that balance and what Corgan wanted to achieve: "we could be beautiful, pretty, psychedelic, and then flip the switch and be heavy and play a ripping lead." When composing the songs, Corgan was experimenting taking LSD to get a psychedelic feeling: "LSD gave me the confidence to attempt these things on kind of a weird tightrope wire act". And then we put those pieces together with the Beatles somewhere in the middle". "For us, it was trying to become this balance point between what felt like dumb riff rock and then the stuff we were really attracted to coming out of the U.K. As a writer, Billy Corgan wanted to find the balance between classic rock of bands playing heavy riffs like Black Sabbath and Led Zeppelin, and the sensuality and grace of alternative bands like the Cure, Siouxsie and the Banshees and My Bloody Valentine. In fact, Heihachi learned that the company was in the midst of creating a new life form by using the data. Heihachi discovered that G Corporation found the corpse and extracted and analyzed its genetic data. This search eventually led Heihachi to G Corporation, a leading-edge biotech firm making unprecedented advances in the field of biogenetics research. Heihachi paid particular attention to the corpse’s back, which had what looked like deformed, protruding wing-like limbs.Ĭonvinced that the picture was of Kazuya, his own son whom he threw into a volcano 20 years ago, Heihachi diverted all his resources into a search for the body. The 20-year-old photograph was an image of a burnt corpse covered with laceration wounds. However, Heihachi discovered a photograph during his investigation that stirred his curiosity. Jin’s whereabouts were unknown after the Tournament. Upon his transformation, he struck down Heihachi and took flight. As his life slipped away, Jin transformed into a Devil. Jin, who vanquished Ogre in The King of Iron Fist Tournament 3, was shot and mortally wounded by Heihachi. Heihachi learned that his own genome lacked the Devil Gene, but he knew someone who did. However, the research was unsuccessful.Īfter extensive experimentation, Heihachi’s bioengineers came to the conclusion that an additional gene - the Devil Gene - was necessary in order to successfully splice Ogre’s genetic code into another living organism. Heihachi’s goal was to create a new life form by splicing Ogre’s genome with his own. Not willing to give up, Heihachi ordered his researchers to collect blood samples, skin tissue, and hoof fragments left behind by Ogre (or known as True Ogre in its true manifestation) in order to conduct genetic experiments. Two years ago, Heihachi failed to capture Ogre. Nominated for Best Fighting Game of 2002 at GameSpot. The review highlighted Tekken 4's experimental and pretty nature, and that overall it is a more solid and thoughtful proposition than its predecessor, but concluded that the game feels "over-familiar and curiously uninspired."Į3 2002 Game Critics Awards: Best Fighting Game. Edge reviewed Tekken 4 in their June 2004 issue, awarding six out of ten. Tekken 4 was one of the most criticized games of the series, mainly for it's slightly flawed gameplay (for example, collision detection flaws created numerous exploitable glitches that allowed for massive combos that were totally inescapable), plus, for having around half as many characters as Tekken Tag Tournament and Jin Kazama's fighting style to be dramatically changed from Mishima Style Fighting Karate to standard Karate, and made to be unlocked, put away some fans of the previous games in the series, but shaped Tekken 5 with more involvement in the story (with beginning explanation to a character's story) and the introduction of environmental damage (on walls and in one or two stages, the ceiling).ĭespite receiving an average of 82% at Game Rankings, Tekken 4 stands as the least critically successful game of the Tekken series.
